Greek Myths

Greek Myths
Hercules
Hercules was the son of Zeus and of a woman called Alkeminis. Hercules was known of his super natural strength from his very childhood. But Hera Zeus’s lawful wife hated him and forced him to do 12 heroic deeds, every single one harder and more dangerous than the other. However, he competed all of them, although it seemed impossible. Even though he survived all 12 tasks, he died a terrible death caused by the jealousy of his own wife. He killed himself to stop the agony caused by the black magic. He was the only hero who was allowed to join the gods on Mount Olympus.

Trojan Horse
There is a myth that tells a story about how the Greeks conquered the city of Troy, after many years of fighting and losing their best men on the both sides. Finally a very wise Greek man called Ulysses came up with an idea to deceive Trojans. The Greeks sail away with their boats making Trojans to think that they gave up and leave. When the Trojans opened the gates of their city they only found a huge wooden horse on the beach. They took the horse inside the castle but they had to ruin one part of the wall because the horse was too big. Then they started to celebrate the victory. When they were drunk and a sleep the Greek soldiers went out of the wooden horse and captured the city. That’s how the Greeks won thanks to Ulysses’s wisdom.
